Officer Jasek came to visit on Wednesday morning. She talked to the parents about the car seat/booster seat laws, and answered questions. She talked to the students about safety. She told us to wear a helmet when riding a bike, get an adult if your ball goes into the street, and never leave the house without telling an adult. She also showed us her uniform and tools. She will come back in the spring to teach us about stranger danger and to let us see her police car. We can't wait!Cariana is making muffins in the kitchen. Alex, Fabian, Mabintou, and Cariana are building with magna-tiles. Alex sees a problem...the tower comes crashing down! During large group time, we used props and acted out "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed."
We picked items throughout our classroom to test. We wanted to know if they would sink or float. We made predictions and then did the experiment. We made a claim "heavy things sink." We used our experiment results as support; a rock sank, a shell sank, a crayon sank, a pencil floated, a glue stick floated, etc.
Last week we went on a leaf hunt. We collected many different kinds of leaves for a fall project. We used the leaves to make fall wreaths.
